Pay with cash or with miles — which is worth it?
Enter the details of the award you're looking at and find out instantly how much your miles are worth — and what really pays off.
The math, no mystery
The idea is to find out how much each 1,000 miles of yours are worth in this award. If they're worth a lot, use them; if not, pay in cash and save the miles for a better opportunity.
1. The real saving
Even with miles you pay the taxes and fees in cash. So the saving is the price minus the fees: saving = cash price − fees.
2. The value per 1,000 miles
Divide the saving by the miles spent, in thousands: value = saving ÷ (miles ÷ 1,000).
3. The verdict
We compare that value with how much it costs to get miles (buying or earning). If they yield more than they cost, use them.
The reference ranges (R$ 18 and R$ 25) are market averages; use "personalize" above to tune them to your real cost of miles.
