Nubank Ultravioleta
Nubank's premium card: choose between instant cashback or points that turn into miles on LATAM Pass, Azul and Smiles.
Overview
The Nubank Ultravioleta is Nubank's high-income card, a metal Mastercard Black historically focused on cashback. In the overhaul announced in August 2025, it gained a flexible rewards program: on every purchase you can choose 1.25% cashback (credited instantly, without waiting for the statement to close) OR earn 2.2 points per dollar spent, with those points transferable to airline programs (LATAM Pass, Azul Fidelidade and Smiles) or usable as cashback, to pay the bill or to invest. It is important to understand that it remains, at its core, a card oriented toward cashback/flexible points within Nubank's own ecosystem, not a traditional points card tied to Livelo/Esfera. The big draw in 2025/2026 is being able to choose, at redemption time, between cash back and airline miles.
Who it's for
Suited to those who are already Nubank customers, run much of their financial life through the app, and want a premium card with flexibility: instant cashback for everyday spending or points for travel miles. Good for those spending over R$ 8,000/month (or holding large investments at Nubank) to waive the fee, and for those who value VIP lounges, IOF reimbursement and a hassle-free digital experience.
Points earning
On each purchase you choose between two reward models: 1.25% cashback credited instantly (without waiting for the statement to close) OR 2.2 points per dollar spent. On purchases made through the Nu Viagens platform, the rate rises to 9 points per dollar or 5% cashback. Points are flexible: they can be transferred to miles, used as cashback, to offset the bill or invested in the Caixinha Turbo. There is no accumulation via Livelo/Esfera — it is Nubank's own program.
Points program and transfers
This is essentially a cashback/proprietary-points card, not a traditional points card. In the reformulated version (2025/2026), accumulated points can be transferred to airline mileage programs: LATAM Pass, Azul Fidelidade and Smiles (Gol). The transfer happens at redemption time, when the customer decides between cash back or miles. Important: the card does NOT transfer to Livelo or Esfera, and the point-to-mile conversion ratio may vary depending on the program and current promotions (for example, there was a limited-time bonus promotion on transfers to LATAM Pass). Always confirm the current conversion rates in the app before transferring.

Annual fee and waiver rules
The R$ 89 monthly fee is waived when the customer spends R$ 8,000 or more per month on the card, OR holds R$ 50,000 or more saved/invested at Nubank. For customers who already had the card before the August 2025 overhaul, there was a transition rate of R$ 49/month with a waiver from R$ 5,000 monthly spending or R$ 50,000 invested, valid for 12 months. Always check the current rules in the app, as amounts and thresholds may be updated.
How to apply
The application is done entirely through the Nubank app. Customers who already have a Nubank account and card can check in the app whether there is a pre-approved Ultravioleta offer; there is no traditional income form, but rather an automatic credit analysis based on your relationship and history with the bank. Those who are not yet customers must first open a Nubank account and build a relationship before receiving the offer.
Income or net worth range
Nubank does not publish a fixed official minimum income; approval depends on automatic credit analysis and your relationship with the bank. The market typically associates the card with a higher-income profile (often cited from R$ 10,000/month), but this is not a criterion published by Nubank.
